MORE ABOUT MEDIA EVENTS:
For the last 30 plus years our announcers and program producers have participated in many media events. For example, Dalia Nissim, our independent producer, interviewed Quincy Jones on a one on one basis at the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences building in Beverly Hills when Mr. Quincy Jones was the executive producer for the 68th annual Academy Awards here in Hollywood California. This is an event that is broadcast all over the world.
Another example is Donna Spangler, our featured announcer on KCLAFM 99.3 here in Los Angeles California. Donna went to the Sundance Film Festival held in Utah and interviewed many movie producers. She also participated in the Hollywood Christmas parade where she interviewed several celebrities on a one on one basis. See KCLAFM.com for sample video clips of her interviews or click here: Donna in action.
Gerri Garner, an independent producer for our company, interviewed Harrison Ford on a one on one basis here in Hollywood California. All of the above was possible with the use of our press card and our training. If you have never done this before, we will show you how to use the power of the press.
HOW DOES THE PRESS CARD WORK?
When you write a column for a newspaper, do a radio show or TV show from as small as 1 minute to several hours, because you have a vehicle through which you can communicate to the masses, you are now technically considered a member of the media or press. In this country we have a constitutional right which is freedom of the press. The press in this country has a lot of power. When you produce a show for our stations, you are technically a member of the press and one of our correspondents, independent producers, radio announcers employed by us or TV program producers. Media events such as concerts, Broadway shows, sporting events need to be highly promoted to ensure the success of these events. They need as much publicity from newspapers, radio and television stations as they can get. These media events constantly invite us, members of the media, to cover these events free of charge. The reason they invite us free of charge is because in return they want us to give them publicity free of charge on our stations. So in a sense, one hand washes the other. They benefit by getting free coverage that they would otherwise have to pay for and we benefit in that we get material to broadcast on our stations to entertain our listeners and viewers. For more information and training on how to use the press card, see the PRESS CARD GUIDE page.
