WHAT IS A FREELANCE CORRESPONDENT?

A freelance radio or TV correspondent is any person in the world who decides to submit to our company a story, report, audio clip, video taping or written material for us to program on our radio or television stations. This could be done on a one time basis or on an ongoing basis. The freelance correspondent is an independent contractor and not an employee of NBS. The material is usually submitted by the correspondent for pay. This means our company would buy the story or material from the correspondent. Sometimes, the correspondent may elect to submit the story or content to us free of charge. This decision is made by the correspondent and depends greatly on the content being submitted.

WHAT KIND OF CONTENT CAN I SUBMIT?

Anything you want. Because we don't want to discourage creativity, we have opened up the flood gates and will accept anything a correspondent wants to submit. This could be anything from a funny story of something that happened between the correspondent and his/her boyfriend/girlfriend. It could also be a bank robbery that the correspondent witnessed or important written material that the correspondent thinks should be reported to the public through radio or television communications. Although, we will accept anything that is submitted, our highly trained staff will ultimately screen all of the material and decide if it can be used on our stations or not.

HOW DO I SUBMIT MY REPORT/STORY?

Your material can be submitted to us in one of three ways; phone, mail or email:

1. OVER THE PHONE AT: (323)463-0793

If you want to submit your story to us over the phone, you can also have it broadcast on one of our radio stations immediately to test market your material. Simply call (323)463-0793. At the tone, simply state your name and start telling your story. Maximum amount of time allowed is 3 minutes. There is no minimum. Your story will automatically broadcast live on KMAX AM 550 in Hollywood California immediately. If you live outside of Los Angeles California and you cannot tune in to our station, simply log on to http://www.KMAXAM.com and listen to yourself via the internet while you speak. If your material is submitted over the phone, you hereby agree that your story is being given to us free of charge and you will not be paid for it. You can, however, insert commercials from your own sponsors/advertisers in your show and keep all of the revenue you generate. See next page for information on how you can make money with your show.
